You will learn how to use your scarves in a creative manner. Their usage will no longer be a mystery and it will enable you to give them a personality of their own. Demonstrations will be given and practiced by all present. Bring an ample supply of your scarves – square, rectangular, or circular. If you have scarf clips, please bring and their purpose and usage will be explained. Come and join us for this informative and fun class. Great way to perk up your wardrobe.

Registration and prepayment required – call Sandwich COA at 508-888-4737. Cost is $20.

Once again Mr. Callan will provide FREE appraisals. Attendees may bring one item to be appraised – no jewelry or furniture. Seating limited – priority to Sandwich residents. Join us for this fun and education program. You do not need to have an item to attend.

Entertainment is Tales of the Supernatural--you will hear stories about spirits and true-life ghost stories he’s collected over the years.

Come watch the first half on the big screen!

Please join us for the 1st half of the Patriot’s football game. We will be projecting it on our big screen for your viewing pleasure! We’ll have a Big Sub for your snacking enjoyment and some chips and dip! We’ll wrap things up at half time so you can enjoy the second half in the comfort of your own home.

On Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10:30 AM, the Commemorating Our History Group will meet at the Bourne Senior Center, 239 Main Street, Buzzards Bay. Bob Sheehan will present “Presumed Lost . . .”, the story behind the press releases of the time, dealing with the US Subs lost in the Pacific during WWII, including the survivors and POWs.

The Bourne Council on Aging, 239 Main Street, Buzzards Bay, is pleased to introduce group facilitator Nancy Anderson, for the Writer’s Working Group, on Fridays, October 10 and 24 from 1:30PM-3:00PM. The Writers Group is a chance for writers of all levels to share their work and experience and to learn about the craft of writing.

HopeHealth announced it will host a new program for veterans, Caring for America’s Heroes: Veterans Preparing for the End of Life. The presentation is based on the principles of the We Honor Veterans (WHV) program. WHV is a partnership between the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the Veterans Administration that provides veterans with comfort and support at the end of life.

But in this case “graphic” refers to a type of book which uses sequential art to tell a story. At first glance, they look like comic books, but they aren’t. What are they, then?

On Friday, July 11, 2014 at 10:30 AM, the Commemorating Our History Group will meet at the Bourne Senior Center, 239 Main Street, Buzzards Bay. This month will feature Part II of a special presentation by Capt. Daryl Smith, USNR, Retired, on the History of Aircraft Carriers. Part II will focus on aircraft carriers from WWII to the present.
