YARMOUTH - Yarmouth police are investigating a series of early morning break-ins at businesses in town.  According to a Yarmouth police release, officers responded to a burglar alarm sounding at Cape Electronics at 19 Dupont Avenue in South Yarmouth around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday morning. An unknown suspect had broken into the business and stolen a small amount of cash.

After 8 a.m., three additional businesses in the area of White's Path--Carpet Solutions, Bennett Fence and Shorey Precast Manufacturing--all reported similar break-ins. In each instance, the suspect or suspects had forced their way into the building and stolen small amounts of cash, police said.

Yarmouth police remind business owners to secure cash in safes or remove it from the building overnight, to lock all doors and windows, use appropriate indoor and outdoor lighting and to check and activate alarm and surveillance systems.

Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to contact Det. Russell Giammarco at 508-775-0445 ext. 2129 or via [email protected]
