Truro police activity from 2/10/14 to 3/2/14.

During the three-week period from Monday, February 10, 2014 to Sunday, March 2, 2014, the officers of the Truro Police Department responded to 275 calls for service.

Over the course of three weeks, there was one larceny, one report of vandalism, one disturbance, four reports of trespassing, two suspicious persons, four reports of suspicious activity and 7 suspicious vehicles.

Officers lent support to several other agencies including the National Park Service, the Truro Fire Department, the probation department and the Wellfleet and Provincetown Police. Officers also assisted with more than 30 fire/rescue calls. There was one fire and one unauthorized burn.

One incapacitated person was taken into protective custody.  One restraining order was served and there were four warrants served. Officers also performed 7 well-being checks.

Sixty-six motorists were pulled over and there were 18 citations issued. There were also 15 additional assorted traffic complaints and calls.

Seven animal calls were made including one report of a loose dog, one found dog and one injured seal.

Officers responded to 8 sounding alarms, including one burglar alarm which resulted in an arrest (see below).

There were 5 arrests:

  • On Thursday, February 27 at 12:26 p.m., Ryan M. Chartier, 19, of 25 Meetinghouse Road in Truro, was placed under arrest during a warrant arrest call at that address and charged with assault and battery and assault and battery on a person 60+/disabled with serious injury.
  • On Sunday, February 23 at 1:16 p.m., Kevin Kilroy Jones, 30, of 77 Winter Street in Hyannis, was placed under arrest during a burglar alarm call on Toms Hill Path and charged with breaking and entering for misdemeanor and trespassing. Jones also had an outstanding warrant.
  • On Monday, February 10, three arrests were made by Lt. Craig Danziger during a follow up investigation into a reported larceny. At 2:57 p.m., two people were arrested on Shore Road: Doreen Devlin, 67, and Dianne Julia Thomas, 63, both of 887 Commercial Street, Apt. 2 in Provincetown. Devlin was charged with accessory after the fact and intimidating a witness and Thomas was charged with accessory before the fact and larceny over $250. At 6:04 p.m., Laura Lyn Rosenberg, 62, of 140 Millstone Road in Brewster, was arrested at that address and charged with larceny over $250 and breaking and entering a building in the daytime for a felony.

There were 3 motor vehicle accidents:

  • Wed., Feb. 22 at 11:32 a.m. on Shore Road
  • Fri., Feb. 14 at 4:47 p.m. on Route 6
  • Thurs., Feb. 13 at 3:02 p.m. at Route 6 and Prince Valley Road
