Two-alarm fire destroys section of Truro motel

Firefighters and police receive 911 call at 4:23 a.m.

NORTH TRURO - A section of the Beachfront White Sands at 706 Shore Road in North Truro was destroyed by fire early Thursday morning. According to a Truro police release, a 911 call came in at 4:23 a.m. reporting a fully-involved fire in an unoccupied section of the hotel.

Upon arrival, Truro firefighters sounded a second alarm. Companies from other Cape towns assisted and the fire was reportedly knocked down at 5:30 a.m.

Truro firefighters and police officer remained on the scene to investigate. 

The state Fire Marshal's Office and the Massachusetts State Police are also investigating.

There were no reported injuries.

Beachfront White Sands is an affiliate of Magnuson Hotels. The 50-unit motel is currently closed for the season.
