Chatham COA to Host Presentation and Listening Session

Sept. 24th - Concerning proposed Accessory Dwelling Unit By-Law

On Monday, September 24th, at 1pm, the Chatham Council on Aging will host a Free Presentation and Listening Session concerning the Planning Board’s proposed Accessory Dwelling Unit Bylaw, on September 24th, at the COA.  All are welcome.  Based on the 2016 Council on Aging Needs Assessment Study, as well as others, the Planning Board has identified the need for additional year round, attainable housing in Chatham. The Board is currently working on a Protective (Zoning) Bylaw amendment to create Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). These ADUs, also known as accessory apartments, encourage aging in place for seniors and create new housing, while maintaining the character of single family neighborhoods. This is an opportunity to speak with the Town’s Principal Planner, and Planning Board Members to gain more insight into this proposal and get your questions answered. We look forward to seeing you there! Consider joining us for Gourmet Luncheon Beforehand, at Noon.  On the menu for Luncheon is: Mediterranean Turkey Patties with Salsa Verde served with a Moroccan Quinoa Salad, and late Summer Fruit Cobbler for dessert. Tickets for Lunch are $7. The Presentation is Free. Transportation is available. Reservations are required for lunch and encouraged for the presentation. To reserve a spot for either the lunch, or the presentation, or both, call the COA 508-945-5191.
