NEW SHOPPING OFFERING - Shaws
Back by popular demand, the COA bus will be offering trips to Shaws in Harwich on Fridays through December. Shopping transportation is by reservation, preferably 48 hours in advance. When you call to make your reservation, you will have a choice of the following: 830am Shaws, 9:30am Stop & Shop; 10:30am Stop & Shop; or 1:30pm Shaw’s. Once dropped off, shoppers will have approximately one hour to complete their shopping before the return trip to Chatham. If there is sustained interest in going to Shaw’s, the COA will continue to offer this expanded shopping schedule into the coming months. COA Gourmet Café -Gourmet Lunch and FREE Festival of Lights Presentation
Join us for a delicious lunch of: Beef Brisket with a Sour Cream and Horseradish Sauce, Classic Potato Latkes and Sautéed Greens, and Ice Cream and Cookies for dessert.

DAYTRIP DESTINATION: COA Holiday Shopping Trip and Lunch at Colony Place, Plymouth
Join us for some holiday fun, and get your holiday
gifts and goodies purchased! We will travel to Colony Place Shops at Plymouth, which has a variety of shops and larger stores offering a wide selection and pricing. Register online ahead of time, at colonyplace.com, to receive a preferred discount shopper’s card to use for additional shopping discounts. Colony Place has many kinds of dining options available, for lunch. Lunch is at the cost of the diner. Transportation is FREE. We will periodically stop near predetermined location stops; however, participants should plan for a significant amount of walking on this trip. The COA bus will travel through Downtown Chatham to the Chatham Christmas Stroll to view the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Reservations are required. Call the COA for more information and to register.

COA Gourmet Café Holiday Extravaganza! Luncheon and Show Featuring Chev Hardy
Chev Hardy, local jazz entertainer, has performed at many area locations, including at last year’s First Night in Chatham, has been invited to entertain us at our Holiday Extravaganza! Her beautiful cool jazz and soul vocals along with her instrumental accompanist are a delight; a show is not to be missed! On the menu is: Chicken Saltimbocca, (chicken sautéed with a mouthwatering addition of ham), Mediterranean Roasted Vegetables, and Pumpkin Caramel Bread Pudding for dessert. FREE Podcast Club, Led by Regina McDowell
A podcast is talk radio, but on demand. It's a series of audio episodes focused on a topic or theme that you can subscribe to and listen to whenever you want. Today, podcasts tend to be completely original content. By listening to a podcast, you use your brain in a new way, expand memory, practice empathy, and hone your discussion skills-- and you learn a great amount of interesting stuff, and laugh a lot! Our podcast Club allow us to sample many subjects, many ideas, many personalities, and hear some great stories! Come with your snack or beverage, relax in a comfy chair, and join the group. We will create notes and follow up on how to access your favorite shows. The Podcast Club meets in the COA Library, the second Tuesday of the month. Fall Cooking Class with Chef Heather Bailey
Join us for Fall Cooking Class with Chef Heather! Following the lesson, the group will share the prepared lunch. Each Class has featured a different topic. Wednesday December 12th: Holiday Treats to Make, Eat, and Share. This class cost is $3 per participant, payable at the COA Front Desk. COA Gourmet Café Luncheon and a FREE Concert with
The Community Handbell Choir
A festive holiday luncheon followed by the beautiful, seasonal sounds of the local handbell choir, led by director, Marylin Sink. As well as organizing the 13 - member community group, she conducts the handbell choir at First Congregational Church in Chatham; and plays with the handbell group at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Harwichport. On the menu for lunch is: Baked Ham with Spinach Pie, Spiced Mashed Sweet Potato and Squash, and Chocolate Mousse Pie with Peppermint for dessert. Tickets for the luncheon are $7. Determined to unseat Steve Finch's (Broderick) reign as the town's holiday season king, Buddy Hall (DeVito) plasters his house with so many decorative lights that it'll be visible from space! When their wives (Kristin Davis and Kristin Chenoweth) bond, and their kids follow suit, the two men only escalate their rivalry- and their decorating. Artful Aging Art Journaling Class

What do Mindfulness, Mandalas, Art Journaling, Nature, Laughter, Sound, Friends, and Community have to do with Aging? Everything! Come participate in our latest Free Artfully Aging Art Journaling Class. Using a variety of art mediums, you can reduce stress, and add quality years to your life. No prior art experience is needed! Classes are led by Gail Tilton, local artist. Give yourself a wellness gift in the new year!
