Father’s Day Luncheon

Featuring entertainment by “Who’s the Boss?” Quartet

Monday, June 10th, at Noon

 

Join us in honor of Father’s Day, as we enjoy a delicious luncheon and celebrate with the smooth sounds of your old-time favorites sung by the “Who’s the Boss” Quartet. They are a mixed acapella group, singing a collection of old favorites, plus a few surprises. They have been performing together for the last three years across Cape Cod, with their close harmonies and infectious performance energy. With decades of collective group singing experience, these playful performers bring to you a selection of your favorite songs from the 20th century and more. Reservations are required. Transportation is available. On the menu for lunch is:  Chicken Parmesan over Pasta with Caesar Salad, Garlic Bread, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie for dessert. Tickets are $9. All guests who are fathers, will be treated to a reduced price of $5. Fathers will also receive a special token gift of appreciation from the COA

Toad Hall Museum of Classic Sports Cars & Luncheon at the Portside Tavern

Wednesday June 12th

Join us as we visit the Toad Hall Museum of Classic Sports Cars at the Simmons Homestead Inn in Hyannis. This is a great collection of over 50 Classic Sports Cars, and of course they are all red. Bus departs at 10:00am from the COA. Tour begins at 11:00am. Lunch following the Museum Tour will be at the Portside Tavern in Hyannis, offering a delicious, mouth-watering variety of Pub fare and entrees for lunch. Admission to the Museum is $5 per person. FREE ~ Grief Yoga Class

2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the Month: June 12th & June 26th, at 1pm

What is Grief Yoga?  This program uses yoga, movement, breath and sound to release pain and suffering. Grief Yoga combines many forms of yoga, movement, and breath techniques to help students process grief and use it as fuel for healing. Students become aware of the present moment and where they hold struggle or pain in the body and mind. This compassionate space helps express and release struggles through movement, breath and sound in exercises and flowing meditations. Come join Peggy Wilbur, LICSW, Social Work and Bereavement Counselor from Broad Reach Hospice and release the emotions associated with grief and loss of any type. Reservations are required. Thomas Dexter Grist Mill & Luncheon at Daniel Webster Inn Tavern

Wednesday June 19th

Join us as we visit the Thomas Dexter Grist Mill, in Sandwich, where we will have a tour of the mid-17th century grist mill which is a fully operating site and leave with a bag of their famous corn meal.  This promises to be an educational adventure, offering a slice of local history and a gorgeous view.  After the tour we will go to Lunch at the Daniel Webster Inn Tavern, located in downtown Sandwich. The Tavern has a fine selection of entrées and sandwiches to suit all palates. Bus departs at 9:30am from the COA. Tour begins at 10:30am.  Admission to the Mill Museum is $8 per person. Online Safety, Cyber Security and Personal Information Protection Advice

Monday June 24th, 1pm

Learn what you need to know to keep yourself, your information, and finances safe from online and identity attacks.  Robin Putnam, from the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation will be at the Chatham COA to present online safety / cyber security.  The presentation will cover how to be safe online whether it be on your smart device, or home computer, using social media or online banking, dangers of phishing emails, and general protection from scams and identity theft. Further information about the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation and what they do assist consumers will be provided.  Consider joining us for luncheon beforehand, at Noon. “DIY” - Do-it-Yourself Workshop at the COA: Project - Tile Trivets

Wednesday, June 26th at 10:30am

Join us for this workshop, and you will see how simple it is to turn tile pieces into a useful and decorative kitchen trivet, in a few easy steps.  We will use a variety of craft papers, colorful napkins, and other materials to create this project. Tiles will be kept at the COA to dry and can be picked up in a couple days.  All materials will be provided by the COA. Participants are asked to contribute $3 toward the cost of the project materials.  Reservations are required. Transportation is available. Call the COA at 508-945-5190.
