Close out your summer by giving the hottest game on ice a try! The Lower Cape Curling Club is holding an Open House on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at its home rink, the Charles Moore Arena in Orleans.

For those who want to experience curling first-hand, on-ice introductory instruction in traditional (sliding) and adapted (stick) delivery and sweeping will be available for $10 per person. Dress warmly and bring clean soft-soled shoes or sneakers if you want to get on the ice.

For the less adventurous, a demonstration game will be ongoing throughout the evening with a member of the Lower Cape Curling Club providing commentary and answering questions from spectators. This is your opportunity to learn about the finer points of the game and prepare to impress your friends and family as an “expert” for the 2022 Winter Olympics!

The Lower Cape Curling Club was established in 2018 to teach, promote and encourage the sport of curling; to develop programs that lead to local, national and international competitions;  to promote good sportsmanship and camaraderie during both intense competition or simply while having fun; to teach the sport to all interested by creating public awareness and appreciation for the sport; and to provide a fun and safe atmosphere for club members and spectators.

The Charles Moore Arena is located at 23 O’Connor Way in Orleans, MA. For additional  information contact the Lower Cape Curling Club at [email protected]  or Arena staff at [email protected]; visit our website www.lowercapecurlingclub.com; or follow us on Facebook: Lower Cape Curling Club.
