Wednesday night a friend and I enjoyed a beautiful warm summer evening, with celebrity guest Chef Michael Schlow who served up to 60 dinner guests outside on the lawn across the street from the Chatham Bars Inn overlooking Chatham Harbor.
The evening began with a champagne toast at 5:30 pm followed by dinner at 6 pm.
Before being seated we had a chance to chat with many of the dinner guests from various parts of the country as well as the local Cape Cod crowd.
In recent years, the Chatham Bars Inn created a working farm on Route 6A in Brewster. The eight-acre property has a farm, operated by farmer Joshua Schiff, which supplies Chatham Bars Inn’s gourmet "Star's Restaurant" and guest chefs with fresh produce daily.
Chef Schlow created eleven dishes served family style including: Bruschetta topped with vegetables from the garden, Zucchini Parmigiano, Little Gem Greens with cherry tomatoes, grilled red onion and piave di pienze, Penne alla Norma with a spicy tomato, eggplant and ricotta salata, Slow Cooked Bistecca seasoned with rosemary and sea salt, Grilled Shrimp including charred lemon and calabrian chiles, Tuscan Kale tossed with pine nuts and topped with pecorino, Sicilian Peperonata including olives capers and parsley.
Totally satisfied we were cajoled into ending on a sweet note with Lemon Curd Tarts, Strawberries marinated in balsamic and basil topped with whipped cream, and a platter of Chocolate Almond Biscotti. See photos and menu below

Chatham Bars Inn's Executive Chef Anthony Cole and his guest chefs will create an exclusive dinner for a farm-to-table family style dinner for up 60 guests each week this summer.
