ABOUT THE GINGERBREAD DÉCOR- ARTIST ANNE TOCHKA
The Gingerbread transformation at the Harbor Overlook Artist Shanties and ‘smile spots’ were created by Cape Cod artist Anne Tochka. This festive project gave her the chance to use her background as an illustrator, visual display artist, and to especially showcase the skills she learned working in a cookie factory. Anne has designed and handmade all the faux candy and cookie elements that adorn the artist shanties and decorate the “smile spots”. Every detail has been covered from cookie shutters with hand cut sprinkles, icing trim, wrapped candy sticks, donut accents, and much more.
Anne Tochka is a visual artist living on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Anne earned her BFA in Communications Design with a focus in Illustration and a minor in Art History from Pratt Institute. She has had a career in a variety of art and design fields including visual merchandising, product design, illustration, as well as her personal painting and sculpture. Anne has shown in galleries in New York City, Boston, and internationally. She has also completed artist residencies with Dacia Gallery in Sibiu, Romania, Mexico, & Peru.
