Falmouth Police - 88-Year-Old Injured in Pedestrian Crash

Investigation revealed elderly man was struck while in a crosswalk...

From the Falmouth Police Department (verbatim):

An East Falmouth man was injured Tuesday afternoon when he was struck by a car while crossing Route 151.

Police and fire personnel responded to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Rt. 151 and Rt. 28A in North Falmouth at 5:16 pm. 

The 88-year-old man was treated by Falmouth Fire & Rescue medics, and then taken by ambulance to Falmouth Hospital. He was later transferred by ambulance to a Boston area hospital.

The driver of the car, a 74-year-old Falmouth man, remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigators. 

An investigation revealed that the pedestrian was in the crosswalk at the time of the crash.

A citation was issued to the driver for a crosswalk violation as a result of the crash.
