Gasoline prices in Massachusetts remain the same as last week, according to AAA Northeast.
AAA Northeast’s December 23 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.52 per gallon. Massachusetts’s price is 2 cents below the national average of $2.54. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 5 cents higher at $2.57 per gallon.
“AAA forecasts that 104 million Americans will travel by car - the most on record for a year-end holiday,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs, “The substantial number of motorists has caused some state averages to increase heading into the holiday week, but these jumps aren’t big and won’t last long or linger past the holiday season.”
