Here's a splendid Christmas story from the Barnstable Fire Department's Captain/Paramedic Christopher Beal...

On December 25th, 2019 at 1857 (6:57 pm) the Barnstable Fire Department was dispatched to the Village Green Apartments, 767 Independence Drive, for a reported woman actively in labor. The on-duty crew responded in Ambulance 203 and Car 212 along with officers from the Barnstable Police Department.

The patient was found to be in active labor and moved to the ambulance where shortly after starting transport to Cape Cod Hospital the mother gave birth to a baby girl in the back of the ambulance at 1920 (7:20 pm). Both mother and daughter were transported to Cape Cod Hospital Maternity Ward where both were found to be in perfect condition, happy and healthy.

The on-duty crew consisted of Captain/Paramedic Christopher Beal, FF/EMT John Fleming, FF/Paramedic Nick Black and FF/EMT Frederico Nogueira.

The Barnstable Fire Department would like to thank the Barnstable Police Department for their help on this potentially difficult call.

The Barnstable Fire Department and all its members would like to congratulate the parents and siblings on the amazing birth of their daughter and sister on Christmas night!
