NWS: A Warm Weekend in Store

Off-Cape highs in the 60's, local highs in mid-50's

Warm weekend in store! Maps below show highs today reaching lower 60s...then mid 60s on Sunday! Along with it, though, will come a band of heavy showers and possibly a thunderstorm late tonight into early Sunday. Unsettled weather midweek, with blast of cold air and strong winds over the coastal waters late Thursday/Thursday night.

 

Today
A slight chance of showers after 10am. Patchy fog after 5pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 53. Breezy, with a southwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 16 to 21 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Tonight
A chance of showers, mainly after midnight. Patchy fog between 9pm and 1am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 50. Breezy, with a southwest wind 18 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Sunday
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 11am, then a chance of showers between 11am and 1pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 55. Windy, with a southwest wind 25 to 30 mph decreasing to 17 to 22 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 36. West wind 9 to 14 mph becoming north after midnight.

Partly sunny, with a high near 42. Northeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon.

A chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 46. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 24 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
